I think you're worrying yourself needlessly. If any of his creditors contact you, simply inform them that the debt was incurred after the divorce and that you have no financial responsibility for your ex-husband's new debts. That will end practically any problem. If, by the rarest chance, some creditor threatens to sue you for his debts, say, "You may try, but when I show the judge my divorce decree, you'll get nothing, and YOU will be ordered to pay MY court costs."
