Because I am not bilingual, is it discrimination?

I have worked for my employer for over 4 years. We were just notified that we will have to take a 20% decrease in pay and a work furlough day because of the economy. But not everyone will take a furlough day, because the ones that will work their full 40 hours can speak spanish. I was told directly by the boss this was the reason why I will have to take a furlough day. I am in Arizona, is this discrimination?
