Estimate the instantaneous rate of change of f(t)=2/(t-2) at the point t=1?

I've been literally breaking pencils over my calculus homework. I read the chapter at least 3-4 times, it makes sense going over examples in the book, but this problem doesn't at all. And it's on an online assessment thing so I can't check the answer in the back of the book.
