I cannot hear out of my left ear.?

I got out of a pool about an hour ago and about 30 minutes ago was cleaning my ear out and then all of the sudden I stopped being able to hear out of my left ear. I still cannot hear, there is no pain, only a slight discomfort and it feels like it is swollen but it seems like the swelling has gone down. I don't see how it could be an infection as the swelling was almost instantaneous. Please help!
